“I’m broke.”
Raise your hand if you’ve said this before.
That is the beginning of a horrific relationship with money. And you didn’t even know it.
The truth is… you cannot improve your money situation if you’re always telling yourself that you’re broke. It just won’t work. Your brain and body will believe the words you’re telling it, especially if it’s constantly being said.
Imagine trying to build your self esteem by constantly calling yourself ugly and stupid. Won’t work, right?
But I understand why you think this way. Because I was brought up with the exact same mentality.
I was taught to never believe in something that seemed “too good to be true” while also simultaneously always believing that there was a ‘catch’ to everything: “what’s the catch?”
And honestly… WTF?
Why was it so absurd to believe in something that could be good for me, and make me happy? At the same time to always expect the worst?
No wonder our mentality around money is so skewed. We have been groomed to think that we could never achieve our dream of owning our own successful business, and we would be stuck in poverty forever.
Trust me when I say that, as skeptical as you are, and as scared as you are… so was the both of us.
But you know… it is time to put that mentality aside and start a fresh slate. Why?
Because the bottom line is…
LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE WHAT YOU WANT.
Period. Period. Period.
If you’re going to do something, like start a new career or start a new business, why would you ask someone who has never done it? Think on that for a minute… or five.
If you want to be famous, listen to advice from a celebrity.
If you want to be rich, listen to advice from six or seven figure entrepreneur.
If you want to fly, listen to advice from a pilot.
If you want to travel, listen to advice from a travel blogger or backpacker.
Listen to those who have wanted the same thing you wanted, and also ACHIEVED it.
